Flexibility, Balance and Posture
How
often do you feel that your body is not as flexible as it used to be, or that
your posture is not as good as it was, or that you lose your balance when you
reach up to that top shelf on one foot? Flexibility,
balance and posture are all attributes that tend to get worse as we get older
–
These attributes get worse mainly because we do not work at maintaining them,
and our modern lifestyles exacerbate the decline with lots of sitting down on
chairs or in the car. This often leads to the shortening and weakening of key muscles,
affecting our flexibility and posture. I am convinced that most of us will benefit hugely from improved flexibility, balance and posture, and I will assess all my clients on these points and recommend we work on improving them where appropriate. Yoga and Pilates are great ways to improve these areas of health and overall well-being. I practice Yoga regularly and find it hugely beneficial.
